I understand that. I'm curious what kind of jobs are/were you expecting to get out of school? I know finance majors from "target" schools go into high finance (investment banking, hedge funds, etc.), but I don't have much perspective on what kinds of jobs normal people with finance degrees can actually obtain. I know there's corporate finance (FPAA, Treasurey, etc.), but that seems an awful lot like accounting. I assume there's jobs to be had in commercial banking, but I don't know anything about it.

Can you actually do anything with a masters in Economics, rather than PhD? I'm seriously considering graduate school, and if it's useful I could definitely see myself mastering in econ. I'm really not interested in getting a doctorate in anything, though. That's a big leap, imo.

I regret not majoring in Finance. I simply wasn't aware of its merits when I applied to the college. You declare your major as soon as you are accepted into the university, and they've made it nearly impossible to change majors after your Freshman year.

Its upper 20s on US News. Numerical rank aside, its an old, fairly large, well regarded school with a nationally recognizable name. I only mentioned this to convey that my degree isn't from a community college, for-profit school, or something unknown that sprang into existence 5 years ago. Since thread is about current job prospects, I think that's relevant.
