its the bedrock in this case thats close to surface, and heavily fractured, thats helping to hold on to the flood gold. I keep meaning to go down to Hope / Yale and try out a few spots that probably got reloaded by the last few massive floods.

Yale is fun! If the bedrock is exposed, look to the high water mark, and dig below the boulders up on the bedrock where the high water rested them. Some of those bowls end up filled with magnetite and fine gold, as well as hug red garnets. Its great territory to wander, to see what the old timers saw all a century ago.
