I'm 22 and a recent grad, I put myself through college working a variety of blue collar jobs with a bunch of other young men, since the time I was 16 and I've finally wound up in an office job.

I used to be able to use fuck in every other sentence and be considered tame when it came to my language, and now I feel uncomfortable saying damn around my coworkers.

I used to work mostly unsupervised and now it feels like management is constantly down my neck.

Discussions about drunken escapades, sexual encounters, and how much weed you smoked the day before were commonplace. Now conversations with coworkers, who are all like 10-20 years older than me are so dull, like okay Linda, you spent your weekend riding your bike to a vineyard with your husband. I did some dabs with my boy Max in the back of his 99 Metro before we hopped on a bus as 1am to get Burger King but we wound up in a different city on accident, but I'm not going to tell you that because I don't need HR thinking I'm some kind of degenerate.

I used to be able to call a coworker a retard to their face and have them laugh it off. Now I need to take classes about "fostering a positive work environment".

We used to have contests at work to see who could put the most dip in their mouth, and now I feel like some sort of outcast for stepping outside for a morning monster and cig

Maybe I'm some sort of child who needs to grow up, but I honestly thought that a good paying best job was the ultimate peak of middle class life, but I can't stand it. Pulling myself out of bed each morning feels like a chore. At my old job, it didn't feel like work. Even though the labor was backbreaking it just felt like I was being paid to hang out with my friends. Now I'm just some outcast who can't fit in and spends his lunch and breaks sitting in his car.

I'd happily go back to blue collar work, but I'm living on my own now and paying off debt and just can't afford to do so. How did you guys get used to this corporate hell?
