There is an immense amount of trash but I believe solid ideas exist behind it. It takes time to figure out how to do things but in general the amount of really educated people looking is what has really increased. The case for decentralization is tricky but has its uses, it doesn't mean that everything needs to be decentralized. Same for appeal to normies. Same for private transactions. Same for proof of work vs proof of stake vs... A lot of systems can coexist and some will be more niche than others. I expect most shit to still exist in limbo by next year, but the next one I believe even the biggest skeptics will admit that it wasn't all smoke and some of this shit was actually useful.

Not saying it's not possible, but how do you plan to measure its fundamental value when due to the limited use cases in the real world there's an obvious lack of track record? I think so far we've mostly built the market and it's time for finished products to start showing their worth. Some won't be up to the task and they'll die, which is neat. But even knowing there are going to be a lot of bubble cycles I don't understand why you would be worried at this moment unless you believe crypto is some real fucking shit.
