Help that i'm a yuropoor then. Feudal/medieval silber often is quite boring (mostly coats of arms and crosses) compared to let say antique Greece, but some are really nice looking. Also if you are a history teacher you know how incredibly rich in events was this period in western Europe. There isn't a year without a new war breaking in pretty much every country lol. You'd think they would calm down a bit after the black plague took away half the population, but instead they double down and stack wars on top of wars.

Where you have zero excuse is you can start a collection for relatively cheap. And unlike modern slop, they wont lose value over time, quite the opposite. And as a teacher i presume you enjoy history, so you really should give it a try. Nothing like flexing artifacts d'époque to get the kids involved, it makes things real, not just boring numbers on a chalkboard.

Here, slurp from yesterday : silver Gros Tournois, 1290, under the reign of Philippe IV the Fair, the king who dismantled the templars and burned them at the stake for satan's worshipping, and first victim of the De Molay's curse.
Best deal i got in a while too, especially considering the condition.
