Why does BAT need to exist? Wouldn't it make more sense for Brave to pay users in a stablecoin like USDC or DAI?

I was skeptical, but honestly? This browser is pretty fucking cool, and you get paid simply by using it.

Early adopter of Brave Browser and user of BAT. Haven't really looked at my BAT in a while and I only have about $70 worth, but it seems since Brave completely updated their browser about 18 months ago, they input a 3rd party verification requirement for being able to withdrawal your BAT.

What's the point of crypto or a privacy browser if you have to pass your photo ID and personal info through every flyby-night 3rd party finance firm?
