If you want to do copper, do it right. Bu a ton for $0.75/lb in quantity one ton. That'll be a cube about two feet on a side. Buy (or make!) a furnace and melt into bars that sell on ebay for $20/lb.
Alternatively, a Cu scrap anon says go around to places that accumulate Cu scrap and sell it to recyclers, and offer to buy it off them and take it away for a little more than they get from the recyclers.
