there's definitely innovation in the space and some of that should come with its own chain to circumvent gatekeeping; stifling dev environments and other limitations
however a lot of the projects are meant to leach from retail, finding some kind of excuse to do so. best recent example is Aptos, a chain built around a new SC language
it's totally normal that this happens but at least show some respect for the OG that's typically superior both from an ethical as well as a technical point of view
