In a vacuum I don't disagree with this point but it practice it's the most retarded mindset the citizenry can have. On a gold-panning forum there was a guy hobby mining in the Swiss Alps as I recall, lots of great pics of the scenery and his simple sluice setup, he was getting a worthwhile amount of pickers and fine gold and the placer deposits seemed really big and miles long, there's tons of loose free gold waiting for weekend miners out there. It seems way richer than the gold district closest to me but for whatever reason it appears that there are fewer people interested in the hobby in Europe. I guess manifest destiny and "gold rush" culture still looms large in America's identity and historical consciousness, was there ever something similar in parts of Europe?
