Most prefer to believe the lies they are fed, thinking their little paper in a box every few years is enough to make them involved in the decisional process of their nation. They think it make them citizens lol. A citizen should be involved in the political decision and decide if his contribution as a taxpayer is well spent. Not just having the illusion of chosing between puppet A and puppet B twice per decade.
But the issue is they transformed the true political process in a cold, inhumane judaic farce. It's impossible to get yourself heard by an hypercentralized, kafkayan machine. And people were never teached in school how to be true citizens. You are simply teached to be good little automatons.

Among the minority who opened their eyes to this grotesque parody, there are 2 types :
- the optimistic/idealist kind, who believe they can make a change with their action by changing the system from within.
- the pessimistic/realist kind, who understand the political process is completely locked from top to bottom, held by an incredibly tight grip, a net of corruption and nepotism who matured for decades, with infinite money at their disposal and the terror of the law, and where it's impossible to emerge as an outsider unless you are already coopted by the powers that be to be part of the controlled opposition. Those people believe they can't make a change because they will never be allowed to change the system from within before it corrupt them, or offer them any visibility no matter the efforts deployed. The only chance at making a change it thus building another society outside of the existing one.

The 2nd kind is most of us here. We know it's pointless trying to even address the problem because our system is so incredibly rotten nothing short of mass guillotine could solve the issue. Either you despair contemplating this reality, or you become the alternative, and hope for like minded people to follow your example outside of the box.
