Your first argument is beside the point. I can buy dinner with btc, then that is me deciding how much I think I certain amount of btc is worth in steak. Whether or not it meets utility as currency, my argument was that individuals decide the value of a given trade and people buy stuff with btc.

On your second point, when I said stocks, I wasn't referring to IPO stocks, I meant cryptocurrency investments. My mistake for the flub. What I meant was, in an online market, price valuations change based on last sell.

I proport that the average income for investors in the cryptocurrency space is not ≈0 because, while price valuations do share a relationship with market capitalization, it is not linear. I'm open to arguments though.
