Trading/stock/crypto advice thread.

"An astute trader aims to enter the market during quiet times and take profits during wild times.
That, of course, is the total opposite of how amateurs act: they jump in or out when prices begin to run, but grow bored and not interested when prices are sleepy."

-The New Trading for a Living by Alexander Elder

I'm a communist but communism will never happen and I just realized I've wasted a good portion of my life. Survival of the fittest.
How do I become capitalist and become rich? I read the basic guide and I'm wondering if I should read any of the books. Do you have any initial reccomendations for investments that I could do with minimal money and still turn a slight profit? Should I just save up a few grand to invest?

How is it that as time went on... instead of getting smarter, /biz/ got dumber?

What happened to the core fundamentals of pic related?

Its somewhat B/s its the Notional value of all the derivatives. However most are cash settled and never executed. They are an interesting way to move money around.

Options, Futures, Swaps, Collateralized Securities etc...

actual credit risk is estimated between 21 and 3.3 trillion or
210 - 33 squares

many of them represent the same assets changing hands multiple times. Still important to know where the big fish play and make their money.
ps. not shitcoin.

OP, making a successful blog with many daily viewers is difficult. You can sell articles online though.
Ex: http://www.articlesale.com/
If you're looking to make $1-10 a week, try out a resale business.
There's lots of competition on eBay and Amazon, but once you start getting buyers and good feedback from them you'll be able to kick it off and get your ideal.
Continue browsing /biz/, every now and then you'll come by very useful information.

No, seriously check out /r/personalfinance and /r/investing. This is a meme board.

Also, this is why we need a sticky but mods are gay and won't let us.

Pic related is something I made in attempt for a sticky image, but like with all things financial no one can agree on anything, so that didn't work out either. It does have some very good resources and recommendations, though.

Well, a lot of people don't know a lot of this "No shit" stuff. How many people buy into these self-help books and programs? Most people live beyond their means, or paycheck to paycheck.

Anyhow, I've updated the infographic. It now includes books, links, an expanded section on investing, while not sacrificing the depth the second one did. This one is conversely longer.
