I made a realization the other day about the meltdownies. Let’s say they for some reason stopped trafficking chromosomes for long enough to actually be correct about the shorts, everything closed in January 2021, they’ve been making profit off the volatility, you name it. Assuming all that is right, moass is still an inevitability. Allow me to explain
GME, by the admission of nearly everyone involved, is a collection of batshit crazy investors who are deadset on owning as much of the company as possible no matter the cost. They buy shares when the price is up. They buy shares when the price is down. They buy shares when it crabs. You know what they never do? They don’t sell (this is provable with GME’s quarterly filings and broker buy/sell ratios). Regardless of how many shorts there are, the eventual state of this matter is retail directly owning enough shares to drain nearly all liquidity out of the market, and at that point the only shares available to buy will be theirs. The ones that at minimum they’re demanding two commas on the price tag for. This will happen, likely within a few months given what the DRS trackers are reporting
