Hey /biz/tards, seeing a lot of newfags shilling and buying into hype these days. Listen up, most of these popular /biz/ coins are either scams or have dubious value propositions. Don't get rekt.

Legit:
Bitcoin (BTC) - OG crypto. Digital gold. Proven track record, decade of security, and strong decentralization.
Ethereum (ETH) - Smart contracts pioneer. Huge ecosystem and developer support.

Scam/Dubious:
Solana (SOL) - High speed and low fees? At what cost? Centralization and the network went down for 17 hours once. Think about that.
Avalanche (AVAX) - Claims to be the next big thing with "subnets", but too many red flags with its consensus model and token distribution.
Fantom (FTM) - Fast consensus doesn't mean secure consensus. There's a reason why ETH didn't go down this route. Also, ties with dubious figures in crypto.
Cardano (ADA) - Years of promises and still no significant smart contract activity. The academic approach is just a marketing gimmick.
Hedera Hashgraph (HBAR) - Closed source. Centralized governing council. Not truly decentralized and lacks the ethos of cryptocurrency.
Polkadot (DOT) - Overhyped interchain operability. Looks fancy on paper but the actual utility and demand are questionable.
Cosmos (ATOM) - Another "internet of blockchains" with limited real-world use cases. Their ecosystem isn't as robust as they make it out to be.
Monero (XMR) - Good if you plan to use it for transactions (privacy coin after all), but terrible if you're planning to invest. Doesn't have the same growth potential.
Algorand (ALGO) - Promises a lot, but under-delivers. Governance and tokenomics are off.
Internet Computer (ICP) - Hyped launch, rapid dump. Centralized aspects and unclear project direction.
XRP (Ripple) - Centralized, tied up in legal issues, and operates more like a company than a decentralized project.
Polygon (MATIC) - A band-aid solution to Ethereum's scalability problems.

Remember to DYOR before throwing your money into any coin.
