If you want to be like me, find an old timer to teach you what to look for, no better education in the search for gold than someone who has been doing it for decades. The man I apprenticed under, Trapper Dave, is well known as one of the best old school prospectors in BC. Find someone like him to show you the ropes.

watch as much as you can tolerate of askjeffwilliams videos. Dudes insane but he will teach you all you need to get into finding gold by hand. But I will also give you this info. Focus on areas already well known for gold. Look for bedrock and large river stones and best of all look for slow points in fast current. Gold is dense and will not travel unless forced to. Look for where it can no longer be moved.

the issue with that is you still have to actually do assement work on your claims / leases every year. You can always pay people to do that for you but it gets expensive fast. Its easier to simply invest in a smaller exploration firm that already has properties they are exploring than buying the ground yourself unless your a professional prospector like myself.

I dug for 2 hours by hand today and got 2 grams of Au. not a bad lunch hour but not as good as my claim in northern bc.

Gold and silver are where its at right now, I just wish I could figure out a way to make my silver property economical to mine. I have asseys saying 2000 grams per tonne silver and 49 grams per tonne gold, issue is its very hard to access the site due to elevation.
