Starting to get depressed because I only make 56k a year and all of my friends, especially younger than me, are making 70-80k with their corporate jobs. My boss is literally worth hundreds of millions and owns a ton of retail stores and restaurant franchises. I'm learning a lot from him but I don't feel like I'm getting as much money as I deserve. He hasn't given me a raise in the past 2 years, even though I oversee some of his businesses. Even if he does give me a raise soon, it won't be as much as my friends are making. And despite the baby on the way and the new house, I feel hopeless and stuck in life with all my normie friends passing me up money wise. It's making me really depressed. Should I go back to the corporate world and become suck ups like them? Or should I stick it out and keep learning under my boss as he expands his "empire", in hopes he'll give me a higher position with more money in the next few years?

that probably wouldn't work in this specific case, at least for some of it - the user management plugin i was attempting to use required symfony, twig and then it had its own sick twisted framework built on top of it. im pissed because it looks so useful but im gonna have to spend at least a week understanding how to build a site with twig and symf. if i were to try laravel id likely have to spend just as much time understanding that instead. feels like im pinned to a damn wall

it would probably need to be more hands on, i need two sets of users with two sets of permissions - one that can upload media to the application and one that can only view it. i also need to be able to view the viewer users activity on the site to do something else. i was trying to grasp Userfrosting, but trying to understand twig and how im gonna convert the stuff ive already made for the site feels like im being hit over the head repeatedly
