So about 24 hours ago I sent a bitcoin transaction to Binance. The fee was 0.00062 BTC (1.67 mBTC/kB) which is like $10USD and it hasn't come through yet. I could increase the fee but for next time, if I use segwit even though Binance or some other exchanges don't support it, would it still send properly? $10usd for a tx that takes over 24hours is fucking ridiculous I hate this piece of shit. Who is buying this garbage? How much would segwit have costed me?

Most of you faggots don't get it, but the reason so many people were buying bitcoin was their expectation of its success over other coins. Bitcoin is shit when it comes to quality. So, longer the price stays stable, riskier it becomes to buy. And Soon, nobody will buy it, Bitcoin cash will moon and bitcoin will crash. Mark my words, faggots. Your days are numbered.

Holy shit why is wex such a piece of shit?
I remembered I had some LTC on BTC-e before they shut down. Wasn't much, but current value is around $100 so I'd rather have it on my wallet.
Anyhow, I click withdraw, enter my LTC adress and wex tells me "mail was sent with further instructions". Five minutes later, still no mail in any of my mailboxes. Holy fuck. They're not talking about snail-mail, are they? Shit hell I want my coins out of this fucking honeypot!

The jig is up. The buttcoin is dead.

Monero is exploding because investors are leaving the exiting the buttcoin butthole. The signs are everywhere. The fees are still too high and the lightening visa network is still too far away from completion to matter at this point.

Buy BCH or Monero it's basically the only choices you have left now at this point.

Seriously, what is going on with cryptocoins right now? Why has every single one of them gone up 10x in the past two months?

What are some promising ones that aren't on any big market yet and aren't on the top 100 of CoinMarketCap?

I missed the Digibyte bubble
I'm currently missing the Musicoin bubble

What's the next god damn bubble scam meme? What's the next coin with a cool name and some gimmick feature, that hasn't found its way to any notable markets yet?

How is your "investment" doing?

The ONLY reason to "invest" in Bitcoin is short term gains, ONLY if you are good at reading markets, and exiting at the right times.

>Merchants won't take it (and those "bitcoin debit cards" don't count; the exchange is taking your bitcoin plus a fee and giving the merchant dollars, which they of course happily accept).
It's slow (10 minute confirmation times).

>It doesn't scale (block size limitations are already a problem even though nobody's actually using bitcoin for anything except for illegal transactions and speculation).

>The markets are unregulated (which is a very bad thing; there's all kinds of ways an exchange can dick you over if there aren't any rules, as experience shows).
It's ridiculously complicated to secure and you can lose everything through a fairly simple mistake or security lapse (just search for "SFYL").

>It's based on shitty economics (not understanding that small and predictable inflation is a good thing for an economy, and that deflation through having a currency increase in value over time, which is what they all expect, is terrible because it encourages hoarding).

>Its fan club is generally a bunch of stupid nerds who don't understand finance or economics and expect to get rich by buying some "financial asset" that produces absolutely nothing (at least shares of stock represent an ownership share in a company that actually creates something and produces earnings).

>Bitcoin trading is a zero-sum game: The amount of money speculators make is exactly equivalent to the amounts others lose (again, there are no dividends because nothing of economic value is created). All you're buying is the hope of selling your stake to someone else for more (actual) money, and the person that buys from you is buying the same thing. How could such a thing be sustainable?

>Even its ideological appeal of being decentralized is wrong because an oligarchy of Chinese mining pools is swallowing up more and more of the mining market share

Anything to add?

Soup /biz/

I just found my old wallet file from about 2011. Turns out I have 1.1 BTC.

What should I do with it? Can I use it to short bitcoin on an exchange like Bitfinex?
