hello /biz/, i have a plan for a distributed, deplatforming resistant communication system. i remember the original bitcoin concept, which was proof-of-work to prevent spam email.

i would like to apply something similar here. ie, each person posting a 'post' or 'article' must perform computational work, and sharing or upvoting that article also requires computational work. also it will be 100% decentralized, torrent style.

it would be unwieldy for chatrooms or comment sections, but it would work perfectly for old web style articles and writers. it could entirely replace wordpress, blogspot, etc. there's also some minor algorithmical details that would let people choose what they want to see and in what order, along with a simple checkbox system for who they do and don't want to rebroadcast on the torrent system.

i hate how facebook, twitter, etc use algorithms to choose what you do and don't see. in this case, you would be able to set your own, clientside, just like dropping in custom css on your livejournal in 2004.

i don't want to make money off this, but tying it to a cryptocurrency or creating one with it might be a good way to fund development and get the ball rolling.

where should i start? i have programming experience but it's all extremely out of date
