So I'm wondering if I could get any pointers on investing in securities, primarily stocks. I have a couple grand saved up but would like to save up some more before I start. I have basic knowledge from econ and business classes in uni but would like some advice from people who have done this in the real world. I would like to leave the country soon and trade stocks while abroad so as to not worry so much about money.

Is swing or day trading preferable?

Also is buying/selling currencies and/or real estate more profitable?
