Is DCA a bad strategy when we aren't talking about index funds you plan to buy and hold until the heat death of the universe? I'm noticing that with some smaller stock picks, at least currently, the market is so fucking volatile that it is basically retarded not to just wait on the sidelines for dips and then buy said dip. So basically looking for a weekly dip and buying the dip. I know generally dca beats out those who don't when it comes to larger index funds and a good chunk of blue chip stocks.

Yep I did. It's not gonna stop full spread unless you are wearing actual N99 filters. However, the point is reduction in spread, not full on nullification.
