From what I've read, it sounds like it's going to cause a huge schism in the btc community. Isn't that normally a bad thing? Yet I see people saying to buy btc before the fork, so i would hope they think that it's going to moon afterwards

Is it worth holding? Charts have it pretty flat for a while, esp. compared to btc. My observation is that it's mainly useful because it's a currency to buy ~shit coins~ I mean alt coins. Low key debating getting some LINK - lots of organic shilling gives me hope - before the conference that's apparently in a few days, but i'd have to find a way to get ETH that isn't 5-8 days and i'm not really confident it will take off if it's behind an ethereum paywall
