But anon you don't understand! They're not meant to lose, they're meant to be able to take their (read 'our') ball and go home whenever they even start to lose.
Us grabbing them by the balls and refusing to let them walk away (again, with our fucking ball) makes us the meaniest weenieus that ever lived! We're not invited to their birthday parties, we're not going to be allowed to lend them our games (for months and never giving them back), we're not even good enough to give them our lunch money!
But we've still got their fucking balls in the palm of our hand and by god they're going to finish this fucking game for once.

It's really amazing to me people don't recognize the breakdown in government and major businesses. It's like they sincerely mistake the ever growing costs of these edifices with their constant reductions in quality or accountability with real honest to god progress because they now hire blacks and women or something. Inefficiency in America is growing everywhere while the cost is passed on to common people who have to make do with worse goods and services and even job opportunities while being squeezed by the growing bureaucratic middlemen who do nothing.

I don't think it's unreasonable to say people have gone insane, our systems are so abstracted no-one can act responsibly and effectively, it's either one or the other and usually it's neither.

Pic fucking related.

How true is this, and more importantly, can it describe governments over centuries?
