One thing that annoys me is that the original Mad Max wasn't even about crazy post-apocalyptic cartoon tribes fighting things out on insane car tanks. The original was more about "ordinary" gangs practicing lawlessness in the setting of a government that was too underequipped to properly handle them and too apathetic to care. It's honestly a really boring movie and if it hadn't been for The Road Warrior, nobody would remember Max Max today.
