The reason March happened wasn't because of lockdowns, it was because of uncertainty over what the virus was and how deadly it truly is. Markets hate uncertainty more than anything. Known events (like wave 2) are priced in ahead of time.

Is better than being involved in some critical project(and since it's in IT won't ever be finished in time) and not be seen by the company?

I have medium grade autism so I for a long time thought people would like when you do the hard and important stuff, yet the ones creating some slack bot for showing ecommerce data or being in projects groups for "lean management" are the ones getting promoted and talked about.

I'm a 34 yo boomer who is a software team lead since 2 years. Not so much work hours(normal 40-45) but much more responsibility, strategic thinking, meetings and so on. YOu can't really relax your brain anymore

Guys, my boss fucking hates me and he is such a fucking micromanager in terms of my demeanour. He freaked out after I came in late one day, after I had been doing so since I started. Now he makes me email him every day at the end of the day to state the exact times I started and finished and when my lunch break was. And he says I can't skip the lunch break ffs.

Jesus Christ, I feel like a prisoner now, chained to my desk. I used to leave early as well, which was so liberating. Leaving work at 5 or 6 pm in London is depressing and overcrowded. Now I need to stay for 8 straight hours, including a mandatory 30 minute lunch break. What a farce.

Of course, I work in a boring office job with braindead work and I've never come within a mile of missing a deadline or being busy. I spend so much time doing nothing.

My boss also hates me for being an introvert autist. He is an uber normie. He was near hysterical when I didn't talk to another employee on one day. He was hysterical when I came in late and didn't bother to give some "excuse" for why I was late (I just said I was, and there was no excuse, which he literally couldn't fathom; of course, I had no meaningful work on that day and that entire week).

On one day, I came in at 9, left at 5, and emailed him at the end of the day to say when I had came and gone. I checked my emails the next day and he wrote this accusatory email, demanding to know where I was from 9 to 9.30 on the previous. I was at a fucking meeting that he had told me to set up. It's just constant interrogation.

And I work in an area with a lot of confidential stuff and security. I worry that he is trying to bait me in to making security mistakes to get me fired.

On the bright side, I am due to start a new job in a different part of the same company in 3 months,with a slight promotion, so I will enjoy handing in my notice. But I hope I don't get in trouble before then. I'm not sure what that would mean for my new job.
