Hey /biz/,

Anyone have any experience working at a startup? And I don't mean a few of your bros starting a business in the garage, I mean an actual well funded startup.

I work at a large multi-national tech company and have recently been offered a position at a small startup. It's more money, more vacation, equity in the company and also a better title.

What I'm worried about is the risk. I would essentially be "Employee #1" of the USA branch of an existing company and I'm somewhat reluctant to leave the security of my existing situation.

tl;dr - how stressful is working at a startup? I've never worked in a small office situation and this early on in the process I'd only have 3-4 teammates.

So /biz/, say I have a really fucking good idea for a business, like potentially billion dollar company. Like facebook sized, but probably a little more complicated. Now, my knowledge of coding and shit is pretty low level, I know some stuff, took intro to programming for example, but there's no way that I could tackle something like this. I'm a smart dude, went to a top tier college, but I don't have capital to put into it either.

Am I completely fucked here? Like, doomed to watch someone else come up with this business elsewhere and just say, "I had that idea once"?

I want to start a service business in the entertainment industry. Most websites devoted to this area are scammy, useless, or advertisements.

All I'm really looking for are my options. I've gathered traffic and population studies (Michigan by the way). I have a substantial chunk of starting capital. I know some side businesses that work well with the industry, but when it comes to the real meat and potatoes... the very basis of the business, I can't help but feel like there's more ideas on the fringe that I'm missing out on.

Idea guys of the internet, you are my only hope. The scope of interest... the space I want to occupy, is that of an arcade/minigolf/gokart/lasertag... an entertainment center of sorts. What else occupies this same space? Why are the requirements of those things? Where are all the fringe ideas for these businesses?

P.S. Not interested in paintball addition
