I also have a theory about something along those lines. Neurochemical homeostasis is the brain trying to keep things as leveled out as possible. This is partly why porn is so dangerous, the constantly jacked up dopamine levels cause receptors to shut down to lessen sensitivity (would also be why weed has a similar effect when used regularly). Most people hate their jobs, and when they're at work, chances are they're critically low on dopamine / serotonin, so receptors would need to get more sensitive to make use of the little that's available. Someone working 5/6 days a week for 8 hours a day who then went home and got high / watched porn / played video games after work every day would be playing ping pong with their regulation of neurochemicals. I'm no doctor but enough of that sounds like it would cause some serious issues down the line. Might be why weed is linked to schizophrenia, but I'm basing that on pretty much nothing at this point.
