My parents don't own a home or any assets in their 60s and have 250k in the bank that they earn 5% on from their bank and both are on the age pension.

Last night I flipped out on them because I'm upset at how they failed so badly in life when it comes to finances despite having it easier than any other generation in history to accumulate wealth, and I told them they should consider buying a Caravan and moving to a Caravan Park, because if/when they have to move and find another place to rent, they will be shit out of luck, and they should buy a Caravan now before all their savings get eaten away by inflation and they wont be be able to afford that.
