No, Monero isn't an investment and crypto currencies were not meant to be investment devices. Monero is digital cash and the only cryptocurrency that functions as such (cash is untraceable).

All the "investors" leave after tether implodes and crypto reverts back to its cypherpunk roots. All the worthless projects centered around vaporware (most notably, "smart" contracts) fade into obscurity as the degenerate filth (speculators) that have coopted the cryptocurrency movement lose control of the narrative allowing actual advancements towards peer to peer currency to occur.

Not true whatsoever. I love XMR and it's the only crypto that I can see value in but it is definitely NOT the one most owned by retail. You shouldn't feel the need to lie to shill our currency.

Retail investors barely know how to get bitcoin from a CEX, where they usually just leave it. They don't even understand what it does or why it's so shit as a currency (I could write a long list of reasons and it wouldn't be exhaustive). They definitely do not know how to buy Monero when it isn't on their exchange. DEXs don't exist to them and atomic swaps are hard to use without a fancy GUI to click buttons on. Simply put, retail is not competent and Monero requires some competence to set up for safe self custody and to actually acquire.

>Or can they suspend me for it if people report it.
They can suspend you for whatever they want. Which, they probably would if you're accepting donations that paypal will suspend you for.

Here is how I would do it:
Download TailsOS on a thumbdrive (installation guide on their site hand holds you through this)
Open it up, enable persistence, restart.
Open it up with persistence enabled. Connect to getmonero.org and download the Official GUI or Official CLI wallet.
Check that you have downloaded an authentic copy (always do this with all sensitive software!)
Move this to persistence, shut down tails (I would do this because paranoid, you could also just turn the wifi off)
Open tails up again with persistence enabled.
Is the wallet software there? Good, it should be.
Open it up, launch the wallet, generate a seed phrase.
Write this seed phrase down in a safe place.
Put a long password on your wallet.
You now have a monero wallet. When you want to use your coins either: Connect to a remote node via Tor OR (better) connect to a node you are hosting (you can even host it on Tails but it is not recommended).

For bitcoin: Feather wallet is pre installed on Tails. Boot it up, write the phrase down (by default I do not think tails saves your wallet unless you enable it).

For ethereum: I have no clue. They all seem fucking terrible. Obviously avoid metamask. If it were up to me I'd avoid ethereum (the only reason I wouldn't avoid bitcoin despite it being a public ledger is because it's the thing that everyone knows and probably has, most people don't have monero) You'll have to figure that out if you really want it.
