Google for gold placer creeks for your area, and then go to your Mineral Titles Office website (or the US equivalent) and pull up maps showing claims on those creeks and rivers. Then pan where there aren't any claims.

I am in BC so I have a bit of a headstart with Gold Creeks by Bill Barlee, he lays out pretty clearly where the placers are here, and historical information about how productive the creeks are/were.

to the anon in the last thread who was asking about pricing that mints pay for silver to make their products, i cant seem to find anything online, but i think the reason is because each private enterprise likely sets up their own deal per order contract. This probably changes depending on the size of the order or if its a repeated order. I ll try and find more info later. On to Denison mines.

your tools should be the following
>shovel / pickaxe
>10 gallon buckets
>spoons (serious kitchen spoons)
>wide steel gold pan (lasts longer than plastic)
>a screw driver (bend the end to a 45* angle)
>sniffer bottle for collecting your gold dust in the pan

Read man, seriously read everything you can on your local gold region. How people mined, where they mined in the 1850s and the ground the gold is situated in. Prospecting is 90% research time, if you dont you will be mining blind.

I switch it up every few years, lately I ve been living off the work from my own activity and contract work showing others how to mine or getting others sites setup properly. I ve been getting paid $150 an hour from one guy for the last 10 days getting his site figured out and teaching him how the mining game works. If I wanted to I could go back underground or go drilling but this is comfier work right now.

Quartz is the bringer of gold, it brings wealth from the earths burning heart to the near surface. If there is quartz it means there will likely be gold nearby. Now quartz with minerals like pyrite or galena, now your looking at good stuff. Gold wears an iron hat, they are deposited at the same time.

Look at what gold / silver is doing, all the major miners are going to rise with this. The juniors are having the times of their lives right now.

to those who i missed last thread

Southeast USA, specifically Florida and TN
> try the southeastern Coker Creek gold belt in the Cherokee National Forest. The Tellico River is better but more likely to be entirely claimed at any time.

Central Missouri and Northern Arkansas
>Missouri's creeks seem to all carry small amounts of glacially produced fine gold, no nuggets. Try any major rivers gravel bars. Look for magnetite sands, this will be your best bet. Very little gold have ever been found in Arkansas unfortunately.

In the UK recently there have been several strange gold discoveries, one of the largest nuggets found in europe came from a scottish creek in the highlands. Devan, Cornwall and the Lake Districts have all produced free gold in a compacted iron stained gravel up to 2 grams.
