yeah, interesting take. I am not really dialed in to sentiment very well. But I will say that Bears are inherently more cautious for 3 reasons:

1) Short positions theoretically have an unlimited downside, where with long positions the down side is limited to the price of traded instrument falling to zero.

2) Traders may be short a tradable instrument, but they need to cover their short at some point and cash out with that some instrument. It needs to have *some* value for them to cash out.

3) The mainstream media and business press has a 90% buy side bias, so bears arrive at a sell side mentality more through independent thought and research.
