This hits close to home.
I say this all the time. There was nothing better than WoW during those times. Not sure what it was, but it was one of the greatest long term experiences of my life.
I remember the feeling of waking up early right as the sun rises and logging on and the world inside azeroth literally has the same lighting and time. Was a beautiful thing. Like you said it never got to a point where the immersion was lost. It was constant fun. Always something to do or somewhere to go. Sometimes just sitting in a capital city was fun it it's own right.
It's all gone. Those times are over.
Real life sucks and I have a full time job wife and baby. Nothing compares to what wow was.
