my father would not allow by boyfriend to share rent with me, or even use his driveway for a camper or van. We have more than enough room and it would have no affect on my father's life or peace and quiet. He could not or provide us with information as to why he didn't want us to move in, even a stern "No" would have sufficed but he danced around the issue. Same deal with my grandmother. Rent for a studio here is $2k, we can't afford it, and now I'm pregnant. Woo. I'll have to sell some of my silver and rent in another state, unfortunately. All of our savings will probably be shot for the move and finding new work. Special place in hell for boomers.
