The real big brain take is that this is all a Fed bluff to entice banks to loosen lending standards and support credit growth in the economy. Digital dollar with interest-bearing capabilities and insta-settled transactions would make modern banking obsolete, both as a consoomer service as well as a monetary policy distributor.

Like everything this will become a polarized issue, Dems shilling for it based on equality and getting gibs-to-nigs quicker, GOP will battle it because of muh free markets n'shiet.

Meanwhile banks will continue to collect $30 billion per year paid to them as interest on their reserve balances at the Fed. Is this interest printed money? NO it is paid for by US taxpayers XDDD

For situations that bad I would think fake gold would be a better investment.
>Pyrite
>Pinchbeck
>Copper / Zinc mixes

I mean chinks got away with using gilded copper alloy bars as gold collateral at actual banks for years. In a SHTF scenario is anyone really going to be verifying gold authenticity?
