Gold is not comparable to Bitcoin, and the price has always be historically highly volatile and didn't even follow the inflation of the dollar. A crypto-currency need a sustainable game-theory model in order to prevent security issues and network congestion. This isn't the case for Bitcoin.

The comparison between Bitcoin and digital gold is fundamentally flawed and misleading. Gold doesn't need an incentivized network of validators in order to process transactions, it isn't prone to network congestion and it doesn't need to evolve against increasingly effective menaces (like quantum supremacy, or new ASIC technologies).
