This retard here. I have another idea:
When a lorry drives along, the square rear of the container creates a vortex causing drag. This increases fuel used.
If you look at a plane, they may have a stubby front, but the rear is sharp. The same is true of a lot of cars.
Sell truck companies a false back that attatches to the back of a shipping container. The back tapers off. It should be made of cheap, light materials.
You would need to do some simulations in solidworks to validate the idea, calculate what the likely fuel saving would be, and understand what engineering is needed to meet legal standards.
But fabrication is probably as simple as drawing up a CAD diagram and getting a chinese factory to knock a few up, collecting some data with a friendly trucker. There might be a patent, but I'd rather make money and then get sued for some of it than not make any.
