So lets say I have an idea for a product, a really good idea that I can easily make a prototype for but I want to see it realized now before anyone else catches up to it.

What process can I take to patent and sell the idea itself and sell it to a business that has the means without getting fucked?

Turns out the "pokemon go takeover" was a shitfest. I went there to sell water around 2 and didn't see anyone, I messaged an acquaintance who was going and he told me it sucked from the beginning. I was anticipating a huge crowd of people sweating balls. Not gonna try any more of this stuff until next weekend's neighborhood garage sale day, I'll post an update in a week.
