How the fuck is everyone making so much goddamn money? I dont fucking understand it, I thought everyone was poor and stupid like me, but everyone I see seems to have their finances in order while I can barely make ends meet living in my parents fucking basement on the cusp of turning fucking 30.

What the fuck am I missing? What am I doing wrong?

>spent seven years remodeling a house
>lost it to a fire
>get exit scammed by the remediation company that was hired to do the cleanup
>got some money from insurance, but then I lost it all in a structured bankruptcy to walk away from the ruined house
>lawyer said to buy a brand new car to sink as much of my cash into an asset as I could
>left with $300 but a nice fuckin car
>lost my job
>fell for the HODL meme
>rear ended by a chingchong and totaled
>girlfriend seriously injured in the crash
>years of surgeries, but chinko only had state minimums so she'll get next to nothing as the max settlement
>value of car paid off remaining loan and little more
>buy shitty used car and move into a trailer park
>work a job I hate to pay some bills
>quit that job
>sell the trailer
>move to a big city where there are tons of opportunity, but tons of nogs
>one of my few remaining friends offers to put me up in his house for a few months
>contemplate suicide daily
I'm working on three startup/side hustles own-my-own business kinda deals. All stuff I actually enjoy doing. I would rather die that go back to being a wagey, but since I don't qualify for the autismbux and I'm actively refusing work instead of working minimum wage at a factory with blacks and mexicans I've little chance of getting any sort of government assistance.

I just have to make enough to pay for a room and I'll be fine. Just have to turn a profit before I run out of money.

Lesson of the day. No matter how good you are at taking losses and where you think you're going to get out, it doesn't mean shit when the bids get obliterated and skip down 5 times the distance from your entry to your stop. I'm guessing I could have dodged this if I kept a closer eye on the order book/level II?

Here's my major road block to getting better at trading and I'd be happy to hear an experienced trader's thoughts on this. Right now I can structure amazing trades. My trades don't work out all the time, but when they do, the stock runs for multiple points at a time, generally very quickly. The major problem you hear about with traders is that they hold positions beyond their stop for too long and blow up or destroy their risk-reward. My problem seems to be the opposite. I get in the trade, judiciously stop myself out at the level I decided to stop out on (maybe occasionally a little higher due to slippage), then the trade skyrockets. Given the fact that I can only risk a set amount in a day and that I can only risk a percentage of that on each trade, what is the best thing to do here?

I currently risk about .15 to .35 points a trade on stocks in the $50-$100 share price region. Examining it myself, it seems like the best solution is to drop position size by half and double my stop distance (thus keeping capital at risk per trade the same) and then maybe practice on sizing up more if the trade starts to work or returning to larger size as I become consistently profitable again. I know I also have to get better at re-entering, but maybe I'd do that better with less size for now? Really not sure what else I could tweak. If my setups are working consistently, but I'm missing the trade because I'm getting stopped out, is the best thing to do expanding my stops with less position size and work on re-entry?
