The line of margin calls is real, which means the algo has to keep shorting GME to avoid that line. Also there will be a price point that fundamentally the stock price should not drop below, on account of GameStop being a solid company. So when the stock price gradually gets stuck between these two points on the wedge... you can figure the rest out.
