Terrible stats in modern Pokemon. Mediocre special sweeper. Below average speed, and speed matters greatly in this kids game that will never be balanced. If you gave him a +Spe nature with 252 speed EVs he's still slow as shit and the tradeoff would be that he is now an even worse special sweeper with dogshit Sp. Atk. They had briefly made him viable in online battles with mega evolutions, but then they removed that gameplay feature and now he sucks ass again. People only like Charizard these days for the nostalgia and the cringe TV show, but he's been outclassed in pokemon since Gen 4, when they ramped up the power creeping.

Anyways, check the charts. A YUGE happening.
