Square cannot write since FFVI and CT. Every game has been a convoluted mess since, including VII and IX. IX only truly fell apart at the end.
Suikoden IVs story sucked because the game was just too ugly to play.
Suikoden being overlooked in its time caused used copies of the games to basically have been an 8x investment. They never got a green label mass print. 2 in particular is a collectible
