Why do people want to spend so much just for a house? My family has a small house at the beach near Athens. Like 400k. All you need, a few spare rooms beautiful clear water and a bay to anchor the boat.
I've lived in big 900 square meter houses and 3/4 was basically empty since nobody needed that much space.

So why do people want to spend 2 million bucks on some US houses? Even in the US you can probably find great places away from urban centers for not that much money. And even if not, why not move to a cheap place? Even Malta, Spain or Italy is cheaper than that and arguably more comfy to live in as well.
