Fucking help guys, I started mining monero on my old laptop, I kept it up n' running for like 6 hours. It's been half a day now and my account balance on mymonero is still 0 xmr.
Did I set it up incorrectly? How much time does it take for it to transfer to your account? Will it not show up at all if I don't mine a significant amount? Thanks in advance.

What do you guys think of Monero. I know this looks like shill post, but I 've been researching and Monero looks like the most promising coin for long term success. Anonymity and and decentralization is the main reason to use cryptocurrency in the first place. That's why it began, Monero is more true to the cypherpunk movement that started all this and gave birth to Bitcoin.

The number one criticism I read is that "governments are sure to ban Monero". I don't believe this is possible. Practically, how would do they this? How would they pen legislation to effectively ban Monero? They can't. Monero, or any crypto coin, is really just code. Are they going to ban the code? Ban any coin named Monero? Ban certain types of crypto code? Ban exchanges from selling it? There's no way to ban Monero without banning all crypto in the process

When bitcoin inevitably crashes again, which would be the best place to keep my money so I can rebuy the dip? XMR is looking pretty strong.

Yeah, when Monero went up a little while ago I nearly had a million.

It was pretty great, and I cashed out a little to spend, but kept 90% of it - even through the fall. I spent the money on all new furniture, electronics, toys, and a baller vacation to Las Vegas. Shit was so cash.

I think anyone who buys Monero right now and holds the shit out of it for the coming roller coaster in the next few years will eventually be rich.
