I haven't seen that much specific FUD lately, rather I've seen what looks to be intentionally poor shilling in order to FUD. Of course there's always the FUD that comes from the reply posts to those threads. If that's what you mean.

Providers run masternodes, consumers will use the various dapps. The token system itself is enclosed by companies, individual providers and speculators or traders, sort of like any stock for example. Also, gathering a bunch of companies in a form of partnering doesn't necessarily make it centralized, because the masternodes are that which decentralizes the system in the first place and ensures immutability and resiliency.
