Yeah, what makes me suspicious that Chainlink would willingly do this is that Chainlink tokens were already difficult to purchase from the start. You needed to purchase a minimum amount of Link with ETH to participate in the ICO. /biz/ crowd funded to get each other in the ICO. And while companies would normally pay for a listing on Binance, Binance bypassed the Chainlink team and opened a Chainlink listing. In addition, our memes are way higher quality than any other project in this space.

I can agree that Chainlink may have experimented with astroturfing, but at the start, the community was purely organic. Else they wouldn't have made it so difficult to purchase link tokens in the first place and wouldn't be so mum on what they're working on and not have to be criticized to the point where they relented and became more transparent on stuff they've been delivering on.
