Are bonds a meme? I've been hearing that the 3-month treasury bond rate is decent nowadays at 2.78%. But lemme get this straight... you're telling me that I can get $27 if I lend you $1000 for 3 months...? kek suck my dick lol. That shit is weak af. Much better spent yoloing into memestocks and cryptos Tbh.

Where can I find the current circulation of different maturity treasury Bonds?

I want to know what yield for how long is necessary to induce hyperinflation.

K Thx.

Does anyone know if there are any bond "funds" of some time that don't pay out income?

Consider this, US govt 10 year bonds are yielding 2.78%. So say I buy a bunch of bonds for example with different expiry dates such that I get 2.78% year from expired bonds.

This gets paid out to me at 2.78% (similar to a bond fund ETF). But then my marginal tax rate is in the region of 40%, so my actual return is 0.6*2.78% = 1.668% which is fricking less than inflation.

So assuming that inflation stays the same (2.4%), these bonds are literally losing me money, as I get taxed fucking 40% on the payouts.

It seems that I would be better off buying gold (assuming that it increases in value in line with inflation). Buy gold, it rises 2.4% per year with inflation, keeping my real purchasing power. I do need to sell for capital gains eventually, but I can wait for a year where my income is low, or wait for tax brackets to increase to take into account inflation, plus capital gains are more tax advantaged.

So I was wondering if anyone had made some kind of bond fund structure that continuously reinvests bond payouts back into the "company" or "trust" or whatever the fuck it is so I only have to pay capital gains taxes (or does this not exist).
