because it's not their problem. If it is a problem, it's YOUR problem. And people don't get all worked up about your problems because they assume you're an idiot who doesn't understand what's going on or a disabled person who can't find ways to benefit from it. And they may be right. Even though their solution to the problem is exactly the same as yours already, they just choose houses and cars and electronics instead of gold and silver. And they don't see this as a bad thing.
