Think about it rationally, Dems know that the FTX scandal should hit them by ricochet, since SBF was one of their biggest contributor. They only have two ways out, they either detach completely from him and give the money back (lol), or they try to make him look like he's a good guy deep inside and a victim who dindu nothin, and of course their golems will have to believe it. The only thing that could stop them is a trial, but you know how those generally end up for dems. I guess the worst that could happen is a fine. As long as the media is covering their asses, they'll be free to act the way they want.
