>The prohibition is over my fren;

Not until Trump gets on the Joe Rogan the 15th while Biden does his still town hall. When Rogan asks Trump in the hour and 15 minute mark about his stance on legalization and Trump says "I believe we have the greatest crops in the world. When I'm approved 4 more years, I will legalize cannabis federally." THEN the prohibition is over. Until then, you'll have to wait because regardless of how much of a cultural push there is for it, the fact remains that it's still federally categorized as one of the most dangerous substances in the land.

Believe me, frien. I'd love for boomers to get off their high horse and legalize it already, but the fact of the matter is there's still too much money in politics keeping it illegal for any movement to happen. Until someone outright promises legalization, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

The flu has what Covid19 does not - a vaccine. People like to dunk on antivaxxers for their stupidity and yet fail to take into account just how important vaccines are at preventing the spread and severity of diseases.

Of course it has a lower transition and mortality rate - otherwise our vaccines are fucking pointless.

https://www.cdc.gov/flu/vaccines-work/vaccineeffect.htm

>during 2017-2018, flu vaccination prevented an estimated 6.2 million influenza illnesses, 3.2 million influenza-associated medical visits, 91,000 influenza-associated hospitalizations, and 5,700 influenza-associated deaths.

Corona-chan barely makes a dent in those numbers. Granted, it's over the period of a year, but considering the flu is seasonal we can safely assume that they're almost comparable with one another.

So if we had a vaccine for Covid19, it's not unlikely that its numbers would level out with influenza.

Eh, I don't thjink that's why he's scared of testing. I think he's scared of testing because he's trying his best to keep the stock market under control for his election. He's assuming (probably rightfully so) that when the weather warms up, the virus will spread significantly less. So with spring around the corner, if he buys enough time he can probably say "See, we have the best health standards in the world. We prevented the spread of this disease hugely, and the country has never been safer! With an infection rate lower than any other confirmed country in the world, we truly have kept America great!" etc. etc.

If he was worried about his voter base falling like flies (remember - even though they're more at risk it doesn't mean they're dying left and right. 14% mortality is still less than a quarter of confirmed infected within the age group) I'd assume he'd actually push for mass quarantine to protect them. I think he's gambling on sacrificing a very small percentage of his voter base for a stronger footing in 2020 debates.
