Maybe I'm a little thick headed but I don't understand why screen scraping is used in transactions instead of just manually entering payment options through a website. I've never had an occasion where a website asked me to use it. Yet, open banking is pushing itself on us by saying we won't have to use screen scraping anymore. Why tf would you use it in the first place? Granting a third party your own banking credentials just to buy shoes sounds like something a complete retard would do so why is it being used as justification for bring open banking into the mainstream. Can someone please explain this shit to me?
