dude lightning network is broken as fuck and the only way it scales is that it gets worse the more people that use it (because the more the network changes every second the higher the chance your payment arrives to a node that no longer can be used and then the payment failed)

almost all of the true believers have moved on top BCH and then some moved on further to BSV. BCH is actually evolving the protocol and BSV is trying to improve all the stuff surrounding it to support bigger blocks (plus de-evolving the protocol to go back to bitcoin 0.1). and there are tools being built on top of BCH and BSV, making it easier for others to keep building on top of them.

meanwhile BTC is standing perfectly still, i haven't heard of anything happening at all surrounding it. Lightning Network isn't even BTC exclusive so don't go there... also LN routing still doesn't work, current method fails more and more the more that transacts at the same time. so all the bitcoin innovation happens on BCH or BSV, the true believers have moved over. that's why i said all BTC have left is the ticker. and speculation. and it's unlikely there will be a massive Tether-esque manipulation to boost BTC again

BTC has crippled itself. Being "Full Global money" is no longer the target. There is zero interest among those with commit access to actually scale BTC.

Actually that's a LN transaction caught in mid transit.

It works less and less the more that use it at the same time.

The only reason it works when you two test it is because you are the only ones in the world using it that minute. If the network state changes before your transaction reaches the destination it fails.

imagine, if BTC had just increased the max blocksize to a measly 2 MB bitcoin cash would never have happened, all that adoption that BTC have been bleeding would have stayed and faith wouldn't have been lost in its future viability. roger ver would still be out there promoting BTC and every developer would have kept building on BTC.

plus they wouldn't have felt the need to rush out a broken lightning network that just ruins the project's reputation. it clearly needs at least 5 more years of development and 2 MB blocks on BTC would have provided that.

everything happening is nobody's fault but the people supporting BTC.

wow there is 700 BTC locked into the lightning network

https://p2sh.info/dashboard/db/lightning-network?orgId=1&from=now-2y&to=now

don't kid yourself about lightning network, it only fails more and more the more people that use it at the same time and it still isn't used by more than 1 guy at the exact same moment in time

>if it was we'd all be on Segwit2x as of last year. This is not new.
it's not the same thing. BTC and BCH are 2 chains on 2 cryptos (2 networks). ABC and SV are 2 chains on 1 crypto (1 network).

>nChain have shown nothing new at all
which is fine, BCH was about removing limits, not experimenting. im just fine with how BCH worked a month ago.

>>11840562
if checkpoints are added regularly you might as well use proof of stake since whoever decides the checkpoints says that proof of work doesn't matter. satoshi added them in 2010 to secure the network against bugs and the network was way smaller back then. he also made sure it was 200 blocks back all in a straight line with no splits.

i assume you've seen andreas brekken's comment about centralized checkpointing on november 15:th
https://youtu.be/b8aj2KHZluU?t=10592
timestamp 3:03:52

timestamp 2:56:32 is also a little funny because he was 100% sure ryan x charles would pick ABC over SV, which he didn't
